Hope you’re all good!
I recently came across One Year After My Chemo on Instagram & thought it was such a fantastic idea – people who had battled cancer could show how far they have come & give hope to those still fighting. I decided to check out their website & sent off this picture of myself.
A lovely lady called Abbey – who runs the site – got back to me & helped me to upload the picture & my story. It got a crazy response on Instagram:
I was just overwhelmed with the kind words of complete strangers – it was so lovely to hear those things! Likes & comments are still coming in on it & it means so much to hear people’s lovely thoughts! Submit your own story at http://www.oneyearafterchemo.com & help people who are still fighting to have something to look forward to 🙂
I also submitted my story to my local children’s cancer charity LATCH who helped me & my family through some difficult times. They provided me with trips to Downing Street and lots of other great opportunities. Read my story at http://www.latchwales.org/3320/alices-story/ – hopefully it will help others to see that there is light at the end of the tunnel 🙂
Once you’re done with treatment, I think it’s important to remember that there are others still fighting & they might need a little pick me up from time to time. Hopefully, by sharing my story, people will realise that there is life after cancer & it is to be grabbed with both hands!
Lots of hugs,
